The entire Bible, particularly the New Testament, exemplifies the importance of genuine Christian fellowship. Billions throughout the ages have discovered the richness of developing and enjoying a relationship with God and His people. Yet within the pages of Scripture doctrinal errors and sinful behavior continually plagued those who seemed to know and love God best. Splintered into dozens of different factions espousing hundreds of various doctrines, modern Christianity has fared little better.

So much so, some have gone as far as to suggest the First World
Churchianity is in direct disobedience to the Bible, perhaps even to the point of being apostate. It falls to each of us to discern our own spiritual health and that of fellow Christians we know and love, from local congregations to entire denominations. Believers are called to develop enough spiritual sensitivity to judge between faith and presumption as well as how much of the full Gospel we possess. Learning to do so takes diligence but in the end promises to prove more than worth the effort.


If we live in the light as He is in the light, we share what we have in God with each other. And the blood of Jesus Christ, His Son, makes our lives clean from all sin.

The transformative power of Biblical Christianity is beyond dispute. Against all odds, the message and adherents of this once tiny sect have literally reshaped global society. One by one, dark practices from human sacrifice to slavery have been exposed as inhumane by the brilliance of the Gospel.

Christ's golden rule, "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you" is just one of hundreds of New Testament verses that have impacted the quality of life of billions. For two millennia, filled with the
Holy Spirit and Christ's example of the power of righteousness and love, His Church across the globe has weathered social and physical persecution to bring and be “the salt” and "light of the world."

No tongue can do justice to the trillion acts of kindness and sacrifice Christians, led by God, have shown to family and friends, needy and poor, sick and dying. For generations, wave upon wave of "love and good deeds" have broken against humanity's resistant and even hostile shores. Times without number "those of whom the world was not worthy" have poured themselves out like "drink offerings" on the populace of a planet full of parched and imperiled souls.

Yet for all it's good, the Church has often succumbed to sin and scandal. From worldliness and impurity to crusades and inquisitions,
demonic resistance from the Evil One has repeatedly deceived God's anointed.

Even greater atrocities have and continue to be committed by so called Christian nations. World War I and II were both instigated by countries having sent tens of thousands of missionaries to bring life and light to the very world they plunged into death and darkness. The same can be said for all the nations of Christendom in regards to greed and
immorality, drug abuse and abortion.

When it comes to Christian fellowship our thoughts range somewhere between the mindset of "I would never join a church that would have me as a member" and that of the noted theologian Thomas Aquinas "There is but one Church in which men find salvation, just as outside the ark of Noah it was not possible for anyone to be saved."

In the same way, the true spiritual condition of
Modern Christianity as an institution lies somewhere between denouncements as the "Great Whore of Babylon" and declarations of our being the "Spotless Bride of Christ."

Without question
Churchianity is afflicted with epidemic levels of premarital sex and cohabitation, immorality and abortion, divorce and pornography, drug abuse and materialism… In fact, worldliness and sin have so metastasized throughout the denominational body of Christ as to be all but terminal when compared to Jesus' judgment of His seven churches in the Book of Revelation.

Sadly the vast majority of modern Christians show little or no interest in the rigors of costly discipleship. Prophetic Christians recognize our desperate need for not only individual and corporate renewal and revival if not reformation. These understand the realistic hope requires honesty enough to admit the true extent of our need in light of the Bible’s guidelines for benefiting from God’s supply. They also daily confess any lack of discipline in regards to doubtful habits and/or besetting sins short-circuiting their work and prayers to more fully experience the power of God.

With all the challenges facing believers, we are assured that the very "gates of hell shall not prevail" against the true spiritual Church. The question is, which if any sect of Christianity qualifies? What about local congregations and individual believers? Did Jesus grant a blanket promise to all those who cry out "Lord, Lord…" or only those who "obey My Father in heaven." Scripture teaches the earthly body of Christ is comprised of obedient believers, who like healthy cells, maintain sanctified lifestyles meeting the Bible's 10 conditions regarding the answer to the question of questions, "what must I do to be saved?"

With this in mind some have likened
modern Christianity to an ugly cow that still gives some milk. While hoofs and horns have gored millions, as many or more of "those who oppose themselves" through gross and shameful behaviors and addictions have received guidance and grace through the teaching and ministry of local fellowships.

Dualistically, both the strength and weakness of the society of the Church lies with its members. Ordained by Christ to be His earthly heart and voice, hands and feet, leaders and laity alike possess unlimited potential for good and evil. Omnity's plan was to send God's only begotten Son as Lord and Savior to pay atonements costly price , paving the way for the Holy Spirit to be poured out on mankind. As recorded in the Book of Acts, Divine gifts such as healing and miracles performed by ordinary men and women, transformed by the Gospel, were designed to provide the impetus for a fallen world to overcome temptation and deception, doubt and worldly fear.

This worked well at first, yet like the Wedding of Cana that occasioned Christ's debut miracle, subsequent generations have all but run out of wine. Sadly, in equally short supply are
perfect intercessors like Mary, who by the art of prayer demonstrated the willingness and wisdom to turn crises into opportunity.

Multitudes use the flaws of the Church as justification to ignore their responsibility to find answers to life's ultimate questions, which begin with the obvious:

1. How did I get here? How did the universe itself come to be? How can a non sentient universe produce a sentient soul?

2.
Is there a purpose to my existence? Is there meaning or relevance beyond a few years of human life?

3.
Where am I going? A lifespan of a hundred years is but a single drop of water in an endless ocean of time. What's to become of me in eternity?

Additionally, many feel society's outgrown the
need for religion. Yet with billions engulfed in war and poverty, not to mention the impending specter of disease and death, where else can we who are so clearly "fearfully and wonderfully made" turn than to our Creator and Savior. Discussing the end times, Jesus explained that because of increasing levels of deception and sin genuine faith would become ever more rare warning, "Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold."

Tragically, this prediction is being fulfilled before our eyes among the very nations
given more blessings and reasons to believe than all previous generations combined! A fact, in part demonstrated by the fantastic fine tuning and astounding intricacies of actual intelligent design. Amazing scientific discoveries described millennia ago in Biblical passages include a testable model of creation that encompasses many modern discoveries in the areas of astronomy and physics, biology and human origins, earth science and understanding the universe.

Mounting evidence reveals that
faith is more reasonable than ever. In light of the continual and even growing need for individual and corporate fellowship and ministry, each of us must find an honest and workable solution to the challenge of an imperfect Church. We do well to start with our own failings. Have we sought God as we should? Have we dedicated the time and energy in seeking God that even amateur athletes invest in sport? Do we seriously pray? How robust is our daily prayer life? Are we broken hearted by the needs around us enough to learn to fast and be still, wait on or even wrestle with God? Have we read the entire Bible? Can we quote even 10 Scriptures in a row? How alive is our faith? Is it active or apathetic?

The disappointing answers to even a handful of questions reveal a generation moving away from, rather than towards, God. Sadly, the vast majority of
Church attenders fare poorly on such a pop quiz, further demonstrating the need to find or develop a weekly if not daily authentic Christian Church fellowship.

More than any other human society, the Church has reason to hope that its whole may be greater than the some of it's parts. Jesus promised "when two or three of you are together because of me, you can be sure that I'll be there." Should such a generous offer by God the Son seem insufficient, Jesus assured that it was better that He ascend to heaven so that during His temporary absence the Spirit of God might come and fill His followers, leading and empowering them as He had Christ.

We are told the
Holy Spirit also creates and assembles the corporate members of the Church. As the earthly body of Christ, the abilities and interplay of each person or part is designed to synergistically promote form and function. So much so, many New Testament passages appear to extend the offer all but limitless potential and power when obedient and unified believers gather together:

  • "Take this most seriously: A yes on earth is yes in heaven; a no on earth is no in heaven. What you say to one another is eternal. I mean this. When two of you get together on anything at all on earth and make a prayer of it, my Father in heaven goes into action." Matthew 18:18-19

  • The person who trusts me will not only do what I'm doing but even greater things, because I, on my way to the Father, am giving you the same work to do that I've been doing. You can count on it. From now on, whatever you request along the lines of who I am and what I am doing, I'll do it. That's how the Father will be seen for who he is in the Son. I mean it. Whatever you request in this way, I'll do." John 14:12-14

  • Then he said, "Go into the world. Go everywhere and announce the Message of God's good news to one and all. Whoever believes and is baptized is saved; whoever refuses to believe is damned. These are some of the signs that will accompany believers: They will throw out demons in my name, they will speak in new tongues, they will take snakes in their hands, they will drink poison and not be hurt, they will lay hands on the sick and make them well." Mark 16: 15-18

  • "All kinds of things are handed out by the Spirit, and to all kinds of people! The variety is wonderful: wise counsel clear understanding, simple trust, healing the sick, miraculous acts proclamation, distinguishing between spirits, tongues, interpretation of tongues. All these gifts have a common origin, but are handed out one by one by the one Spirit of God. He decides who gets what, and when. You can easily enough see how this kind of thing works by looking no further than your own body. Your body has many parts—limbs, organs, cells—but no matter how many parts you can name, you're still one body. It's exactly the same with Christ. By means of his one Spirit, we all said good-bye to our partial and piecemeal lives. We each used to independently call our own shots, but then we entered into a large and integrated life in which he has the final say in everything. (This is what we proclaimed in word and action when we were baptized.) Each of us is now a part of his resurrection body, refreshed and sustained at one fountain—his Spirit—where we all come to drink. The old labels we once used to identify ourselves—labels like Jew or Greek, slave or free—are no longer useful. We need something larger, more comprehensive." 1 Corinthians 12:6-13

  • For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord's holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge — that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God." Ephesians 3:14-19
All this sounds very promising, yet truth be told the individual and collective experience of modern Christianity is far from victorious. Regrettably, the net effect of the short list of sins already mentioned has been the uprooting of millennia of moral and characterlogical gains in the span of a single generation. Such a reversal might call into question the very fabric of Biblical faith itself had Scripture not foretold such an all but inevitable breakdown in what was designed to be the perfect system:

  • "Now it's up to you. Be on your toes—both for yourselves and your congregation of sheep. The Holy Spirit has put you in charge of these people—God's people they are—to guard and protect them. God himself thought they were worth dying for. I know that as soon as I'm gone, vicious wolves are going to show up and rip into this flock, men from your very own ranks twisting words so as to seduce disciples into following them instead of Jesus. So stay awake and keep up your guard. Remember those three years I kept at it with you, never letting up, pouring my heart out with you, one after another." Acts 20:28-31

  • "The Spirit makes it clear that as time goes on, some are going to give up on the faith and chase after demonic illusions put forth by professional liars. These liars have lied so well and for so long that they've lost their capacity for truth." 1 Timothy 4:1-2

  • "But there were also lying prophets among the people then, just as there will be lying religious teachers among you. They'll smuggle in destructive divisions, pitting you against each other—biting the hand of the One who gave them a chance to have their lives back! They've put themselves on a fast downhill slide to destruction, but not before they recruit a crowd of mixed-up followers who can't tell right from wrong. They give the way of truth a bad name. They're only out for themselves. They'll say anything, anything, that sounds good to exploit you. They won't, of course, get by with it. They'll come to a bad end, for God has never just stood by and let that kind of thing go on." 2 Peter 2:1-3

  • "But remember, dear friends, that the apostles of our Master, Jesus Christ, told us this would happen: "In the last days there will be people who don't take these things seriously anymore. They'll treat them like a joke, and make a religion of their own whims and lusts. These are the ones who split churches, thinking only of themselves. There's nothing to them, no sign of the Spirit!." Jude 1:17-19
Scripture warns that in time many fallible members of the clergy and laity would be deceived and in turn deceive others. From a spiritual and social point of view, such an ongoing attack of "ravenous wolves" must wound and scatter the flock. Another popular analogy is that of a community of porcupines. On can easily imagine such a group gathered together for protection against predators and the elements, quickly growing weary and angry at being poked and prodded.

In either case, as so many of the
fulfilled prophecies of Scripture attest, by definition Omnity is aware of the end from the beginning. Thankfully the Bible clearly and repeatedly states God's offer to provide grace and guidance through times of joy and trouble to those willing to expend the time and effort to diligently seek Him.

Sadly most modern believers would rather simply embrace the concept of “peace, peace” even “when there is no peace” than diligently discern the difference between the story we tell ourselves and the hard truth of Scripture. This unfortunate and long standing tradition among the people of God is warned against by such notables as Ezekiel and Jeremiah:

  • Because they lead my people astray, saying, “Peace,” when there is no peace, and because, when a flimsy wall is built, they cover it with whitewash…” Ezekiel 13:10 NIV


  • "Everyone’s after the dishonest dollar, little people and big people alike. Prophets and priests and everyone in between twist words and doctor truth. My people are broken—shattered!—and they put on Band-Aids, Saying, ‘It’s not so bad. You’ll be just fine.’ But things are not ‘just fine’! Do you suppose they are embarrassed over this outrage? No, they have no shame. They don’t even know how to blush. There’s no hope for them. They’ve hit bottom and there’s no getting up. As far as I’m concerned,  they’re finished. God has spoken.” Jeremiah 6:13-15 MSG
In the case of “good old church goin’ folk” the reason for the disconnect from both Scripture and reality is an often well meant yet foundational mistake regarding to whom, how and why the “exceedingly great and precious promises of God” belong. By and large believers today are taught to view Biblical warnings and condition through the rose colored lens of presuposing they possess the promises of God. Inherent in misguided pop doctrines such as unconditional love extends so far as to create an culture that axiomatically assumes salvation with little or no effort or understanding. Unfortunately, as is so often the case, Scripture teaches the exact opposite. The promises of God are received and kept not by presumption but by heeding the Bible’s warnings and conditions.

The current permissive mindset is the result of
Churchianity being caught in the dangerous riptide of the original sin of entitlement popularized by various forms of Me-ism. Billions have and continue to reason that surely modern Christians enjoy favor and forgiveness through the love and mercy of God, not to mention the costly atonement of Christ. While having a ring of truth, such a vast over simplification of Scripture omits the clear and concise instruction of at least half the Old and New Testaments, including such unpopular topics as conditional salvation and additions to faith, presumption and the fear of God to name just a few.


Major Christian Sects

So how does the average church attendee so often mistake or even reverse the
emphasis of Scripture? As previously mentioned there are dozens of major sects within the Christian community, each offering differing versions of Christ and various forms of Biblical truth. Having elsewhere identified and ranked at least seven gospels, the following graphic will suffice as a summary of these as compass points:

1. Biblical Christianity (Example Apostle Paul): "In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel." Full understanding and commitment to the Bible's promises and conditions extended by Christ to those embracing His cross as well as their own. Examples: Apostles, Martyrs, Blaise Pascal, Søren Kierkegaard, Hudson Taylor, Praying Hyde, George Muller, Charles Finney, Smith Wigglesworth, Evan Roberts, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Brother Yun, Jackie Pullenger, etc.

2. Charismatic: (Example Believers in the Gifts of Spirit): More Biblically honest than their cessationist counterparts. Cessationists twist Scripture to match the sad reality of powerlessness within modern Christianity. Charismatics more often than not twists reality claiming to routinely heal the sick, prophesy accurately etc… to match Scripture. While closer to Biblical Christianity than most others, the net effect of even well meaning spiritual dishonesty by cooking the books in regards to the presence and power of the Holy Spirit promotes a culture disinterested in seriously seeking a New Pentecost, much less paying the price of Pre-Revival Repentance.

3. Evangelical (Example Average church): Status Quo. Neither hot or cold. Blind to various doctrinal deceptions and level of worldliness ubiquitous within Churchianity. Promotion of unconditional acceptance via cheep grace. No fear of God or judgment. Decreasing emphasis on Christian disciplines such as serious and regular personal and corporate Bible study and prayer. Form of Godliness without and/or denying the power thereof.

4. Catholic (Example Average Parish): Similar to Protestants with even greater doctrinal deception and Biblical illiteracy among lay membership. Can be more pro life and pro family.

5. Heretics and Higher Critics (Example Word of Faith): From those promoting the Prosperity Gospel to liberal interfaith alliances, including those philosophically embracing the LGBT community. In general heretical doctrine arises from an over emphasis of certain portions of Scripture while higher criticism under emphasizes Biblical authority to the point of relegating vital tenants to little more than fine literature and/or mythology.

6. Cults (Example Mormons): Excessive movements, the larger posing as mainstream denominations in violation of critical Christian doctrines. Additional denominations include Seventh-day Adventists, Jehovah Witnesses, Scientology etc.

Quantum Christianity and Godblog carefully acknowledge that the above categories reflect the belief and religious traditions of hundreds of millions of well intentioned believers in some form of Christianity. We are also mindful of an equal or greater number of loving and charitable acts routinely performed by members of all sects of Christianity, not to mention humanity itself. Nevertheless, as previously demonstrated, Scripture requires each and every would be disciple of Christ learn to accurately recognize and respond to the voice of our “
great God and Savior.”

Many will ask what proof can be offered to make such sweeping
judgments. The answer is a simple one. The Bible itself. Though there are minor differences in what may be somewhat flawed modern translated and paraphrased versions, Christianity’s fundamental messages and major tenants are so often repeated and emphasized as to be impossible for the honest and studious reader to miss.

Careful consideration of the points above raises questions as to the place and expression of unity vs. uniformity. Even as bodily parts have various form and function, so too expression of Christian fellowship is grander than "one size fits all." Given the enormous diversity of cultural and individual experience, God provides a plethora of opportunities for us to grow in our knowledge of and usefulness to both Christ and one another.

A core and controversial issue, the topic of unity verse uniformity arose immediately in the early Church. Most notable was the debate as to whether newly converted Gentile believers should be forced to conform to all the Jewish customs of the Mosaic teachings. Jewish adherents and apostles might well have assumed that since "salvation is of the Jews" Gentiles would naturally adopt the traditions of their older brothers in the faith. Yet while the Bible makes clear there is much to be learned from the Old Testament, the New Testament is equally adamant that the new wine of the Gospel requires new wineskins:

  • "No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment. Otherwise, the new piece will pull away from the old, making the tear worse. And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins." Mark 2:21-22

  • "It wasn't long before some Jews showed up from Judea insisting that everyone be circumcised: "If you're not circumcised in the Mosaic fashion, you can't be saved." Paul and Barnabas were up on their feet at once in fierce protest. The church decided to resolve the matter by sending Paul, Barnabas, and a few others to put it before the apostles and leaders in Jerusalem… The apostles and leaders called a special meeting to consider the matter. The arguments went on and on, back and forth, getting more and more heated. Then Peter took the floor: "Friends, you well know that from early on God made it quite plain that he wanted the pagans to hear the Message of this good news and embrace it..He treated the outsiders exactly as he treated us, beginning at the very center of who they were and working from that center outward, cleaning up their lives as they trusted and believed him. So why are you now trying to out-god God, loading these new believers down with rules that crushed our ancestors and crushed us, too? Don't we believe that we are saved because the Master Jesus amazingly and out of sheer generosity moved to save us just as he did those from beyond our nation? So what are we arguing about?" Acts 15:1-11

  • "James broke the silence. "Friends, listen. Simeon has told us the story of how God at the very outset made sure that racial outsiders were included. This is in perfect agreement with the words of the prophets… So here is my decision: We're not going to unnecessarily burden non-Jewish people who turn to the Master. We'll write them a letter and tell them, 'Be careful to not get involved in activities connected with idols, to guard the morality of sex and marriage, to not serve food offensive to Jewish Christians—blood, for instance.' This is basic wisdom from Moses, preached and honored for centuries now in city after city as we have met and kept the Sabbath." " Acts 15:13-21
Note the generosity of God reflected in the decision of the First Church Council to lay no unnecessary burdens on Gentile believers. Note as well that among the four imperatives, morality remains a key factor. Such a ruling carries series ramifications against our generation where immorality is vaunted and a God given right.

Another contention arose regarding if Christians could or should eat food offered to idols. Since idols obviously don't eat, these offerings were often sold at reduced prices. While at first blush this may seem to have been restricted by James' edict to which the apostles were in agreement, Paul addressed the matter in detail:

  • "Looking at it one way, you could say, "Anything goes. Because of God's immense generosity and grace, we don't have to dissect and scrutinize every action to see if it will pass muster." But the point is not to just get by. We want to live well, but our foremost efforts should be to help others live well. With that as a base to work from, common sense can take you the rest of the way. Eat anything sold at the butcher shop, for instance; you don't have to run an "idolatry test" on every item. "The earth," after all, "is God's, and everything in it." That "everything" certainly includes the leg of lamb in the butcher shop. If a nonbeliever invites you to dinner and you feel like going, go ahead and enjoy yourself; eat everything placed before you. It would be both bad manners and bad spirituality to cross-examine your host on the ethical purity of each course as it is served. On the other hand, if he goes out of his way to tell you that this or that was sacrificed to god or goddess so-and-so, you should pass. Even though you may be indifferent as to where it came from, he isn't, and you don't want to send mixed messages to him about who you are worshiping." 1 Corinthians 10:23-28

  • "But, except for these special cases, I'm not going to walk around on eggshells worrying about what small-minded people might say; I'm going to stride free and easy, knowing what our large-minded Master has already said. If I eat what is served to me, grateful to God for what is on the table, how can I worry about what someone will say? I thanked God for it and he blessed it! So eat your meals heartily, not worrying about what others say about you—you're eating to God's glory, after all, not to please them. As a matter of fact, do everything that way, heartily and freely to God's glory. At the same time, don't be callous in your exercise of freedom, thoughtlessly stepping on the toes of those who aren't as free as you are. I try my best to be considerate of everyone's feelings in all these matters; I hope you will be, too." 1 Corinthians 10:29-33

The early Church had many issues to sort out. It was only natural that the question of the Sabbath and Jewish feast days would need to be addressed. Here again we find an expansive rather than restrictive mandate:

  • "You don't need a telescope, a microscope, or a horoscope to realize the fullness of Christ, and the emptiness of the universe without him. When you come to him, that fullness comes together for you, too. His power extends over everything. Entering into this fullness is not something you figure out or achieve. It's not a matter of being circumcised or keeping a long list of laws. No, you're already in—insiders—not through some secretive initiation rite but rather through what Christ has already gone through for you, destroying the power of sin. If it's an initiation ritual you're after, you've already been through it by submitting to baptism… ." Colossians 2:10-13 MSG

  • "So don't put up with anyone pressuring you in details of diet, worship services, or holy days. All those things are mere shadows cast before what was to come; the substance is Christ. Don't tolerate people who try to run your life, ordering you to bow and scrape, insisting that you join their obsession with angels and that you seek out visions. They're a lot of hot air, that's all they are. They're completely out of touch with the source of life, Christ, who puts us together in one piece, whose very breath and blood flow through us. He is the Head and we are the body. We can grow up healthy in God only as he nourishes us. So, then, if with Christ you've put all that pretentious and infantile religion behind you, why do you let yourselves be bullied by it? "Don't touch this! Don't taste that! Don't go near this!" Do you think things that are here today and gone tomorrow are worth that kind of attention? Such things sound impressive if said in a deep enough voice. They even give the illusion of being pious and humble and ascetic. But they're just another way of showing off, making yourselves look important." Colossians 2:16-23

  • "So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It's your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it." Colossians 3:12-14

  • "Let the peace of Christ keep you in tune with each other, in step with each other. None of this going off and doing your own thing. And cultivate thankfulness. Let the Word of Christ—the Message—have the run of the house. Give it plenty of room in your lives. Instruct and direct one another using good common sense. And sing, sing your hearts out to God! Let every detail in your lives—words, actions, whatever—be done in the name of the Master, Jesus, thanking God the Father every step of the way." Colossians 3:15-17
These and other New Testament passages place the emphasis on Being the Church rather than merely attending a meeting or set of religious rituals. Such liberty, coupled with the warning of coming errors of doctrine and lifestyle, should highly motivate believers to be on guard. Perhaps more today than ever what is needed are Prophetic Christians. Common men and women with an uncommon commitment to study and pray, seek and serve diligently enough to rise above the coming storm and great falling way.

Regardless of where and when, how often and many, Church was designed as a spiritual
gymnasium and barracks. Christians are called upon to gather and "spur one another on to love and good deeds." Such a command encompassed many aspects of faith, from evangelism and discipleship to working through doubts and issues with God. Prophetic Christians are spiritually honest in their dealings with God, themselves and others. Understanding faith is under assault, they reason with even the unreasonable trusting God is not willing that any should perish. They admit the dilemma accentuated by the apparent silence and distance of God, particularly regarding the Goliath of unanswered prayer. Nevertheless, by faith they live bravely, confident that "God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."

Assured that God's will is
knowable such believers inwardly cultivate the Kingdom of God, choosing Biblical meat over milk in hopes of growing strong enough to see God's will more fully realized. They daily inspire themselves and others to run the race in such a way as to receive the prize, embracing Paul's goal to "press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me."

As seen above, Scripture extends Christian freedom beyond what we might eat to how we choose to worship and fellowship with one another.

The goal of Christian fellowship is the presence and pleasure of the Spirit, rather than the observing religious traditions. The objective of such liberty is not to introduce disorder, but rather to allow a fuller expression of the Kingdom of God both within individual believers and collectively among those gathering together:

  • "Regarding this next item, I'm not at all pleased. I am getting the picture that when you meet together it brings out your worst side instead of your best! First, I get this report on your divisiveness, competing with and criticizing each other. I'm reluctant to believe it, but there it is. The best that can be said for it is that the testing process will bring truth into the open and confirm it. And then I find that you bring your divisions to worship—you come together, and instead of eating the Lord's Supper, you bring in a lot of food from the outside and make pigs of yourselves. Some are left out, and go home hungry. Others have to be carried out, too drunk to walk. I can't believe it! Don't you have your own homes to eat and drink in? Why would you stoop to desecrating God's church? Why would you actually shame God's poor? I never would have believed you would stoop to this. And I'm not going to stand by and say nothing." 1 Corinthians 11:17-22

  • "To be perfectly frank, I'm getting exasperated with your infantile thinking. How long before you grow up and use your head—your adult head? It's all right to have a childlike unfamiliarity with evil; a simple no is all that's needed there. But there's far more to saying yes to something. Only mature and well-exercised intelligence can save you from falling into gullibility. It's written in Scripture that God said, In strange tongues and from the mouths of strangers I will preach to this people, but they'll neither listen nor believe. So where does it get you, all this speaking in tongues no one understands? It doesn't help believers, and it only gives unbelievers something to gawk at. Plain truth-speaking, on the other hand, goes straight to the heart of believers and doesn't get in the way of unbelievers. If you come together as a congregation and some unbelieving outsiders walk in on you as you're all praying in tongues, unintelligible to each other and to them, won't they assume you've taken leave of your senses and get out of there as fast as they can? But if some unbelieving outsiders walk in on a service where people are speaking out God's truth, the plain words will bring them up against the truth and probe their hearts. Before you know it, they're going to be on their faces before God, recognizing that God is among you." 1 Corinthians 14:20-25

  • "So here's what I want you to do. When you gather for worship, each one of you be prepared with something that will be useful for all: Sing a hymn, teach a lesson, tell a story, lead a prayer, provide an insight. If prayers are offered in tongues, two or three's the limit, and then only if someone is present who can interpret what you're saying. Otherwise, keep it between God and yourself. And no more than two or three speakers at a meeting, with the rest of you listening and taking it to heart. Take your turn, no one person taking over. Then each speaker gets a chance to say something special from God, and you all learn from each other. If you choose to speak, you're also responsible for how and when you speak. When we worship the right way, God doesn't stir us up into confusion; he brings us into harmony. This goes for all the churches—no exceptions." 1 Corinthians 14:26-33
The good news is that Christian meetings are meant to be both orderly and spontaneous. Yet it's clear from the record of the Corinthians it's easy to emphasize one element over the other.

Misguided intentions to suppress unwanted scrutiny of unscriptural pet doctrines along with well meaning safeguards against the possibility of immature or eccentric behavior are two leading reason the majority of Church, Bible study and prayer meetings operate within formal guidelines. On the one hand, spoken or unspoken rules reduce the threat of disorder. On the other, formal or rigid conduct stifles and stymies rather than encouraging and promoting full examination and participation. While helping to promote unity, structures that are too restrictive grieve and alienate God by wrestling control from His Spirit. The challenge is for individuals and groups to recognize and submit, allow and foster God's leading in our personal as well as corporate lives.


It's been said, "variety's the spice of life." While there is only One Godhead composed of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, there are many ways to seek and serve.

The same can be said for worship and fellowship. Opportunity abounds for 21st Century First World believers. With hundreds of churches scattered throughout the average city, many of which offer a variety of service times and formats, there's something for just about everyone. Adding to the menu are small groups and house churches as well as para church organizations and Christian social media.

Of course quantity is hardly synonymous with quality. As already seen problems with
Modern Christianity abound. From institutional denominations and their local congregations to individual Christians, even such a myriad of options may be narrowed considerably by analyzing doctrine and behavior. Doing so strongly suggests that Churchianity bares little resemblance to Biblical Christianity.

Nonetheless, caring and careful believers understand Scripture's elevated
emphasis on being the Church over and above mere attendance. Even those who fully embrace local church life rarely spend more than one or two hours a week doing so. Again, this hardly stands up against the passion and commitment of even amateur athletes who invest 10-20 hours a week for sport.

Nor does the average church attenders commitment of time compare well with our
entrainment pursuits according to surveys. TV watching alone accounts for 80 hours a month, compared to less than 3 hours of volunteer time and perhaps 6 hours a month for most of the 40% claiming to attend church.

Such statistics demonstrate that most have substituted the genuine need for spiritually social interaction with entertainment. Rather than feeding off Scripture and the Spirit's leading, we've become a nation and even Church of prodigal sons foraging among the fodder.

It's time to honestly and creatively "come and reason together" regarding our apathy or even denial of the spiritual smorgasbord being daily overlooked:

  • "He told them, "I have food to eat you know nothing about." The disciples were puzzled. "Who could have brought him food?" Jesus said, "The food that keeps me going is that I do the will of the One who sent me, finishing the work he started. As you look around right now, wouldn't you say that in about four months it will be time to harvest? Well, I'm telling you to open your eyes and take a good look at what's right in front of you. These Samaritan fields are ripe. It's harvest time! The Harvester isn't waiting. He's taking his pay, gathering in this grain that's ripe for eternal life." John 4:32-36

  • "Don't waste your energy striving for perishable food like that. Work for the food that sticks with you, food that nourishes your lasting life, food the Son of Man provides. He and what he does are guaranteed by God the Father to last…They jumped at that: "Master, give us this bread, now and forever!" Jesus said, "I am the Bread of Life. The person who aligns with me hungers no more and thirsts no more, ever. I have told you this explicitly because even though you have seen me in action, you don't really believe me." John 6:27-35

  • "On the final and climactic day of the Feast, Jesus took his stand. He cried out, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Rivers of living water will brim and spill out of the depths of anyone who believes in me this way, just as the Scripture says." (He said this in regard to the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were about to receive. The Spirit had not yet been given because Jesus had not yet been glorified.)" John 7:37-39


Form AND Function


As firsthand witnesses of Christ's ministry and miracles, death and resurrection, ascension and revelation, the Apostles were privy to a vast amount of inside information regarding the character and commands of Jesus. Yet by the time of the First Church Council as recorded in the Book of Acts, it was James the brother of Jesus, who appears as head of the Jerusalem Church. While we read of Paul and Peter voicing their opinions, it was James who issued the final edict.

It's seems likely that the appointment of James, not to be confused with the Apostle James the brother of John (the disciple whom Jesus loved) to such a prestigious post was in appreciation of his having been raised with and to some degree by Jesus as his older brother. One can only imagine the depth of insight the siblings of Christ must have gleaned over decades of living day in and day out in Jesus' very household.

We too do well to recognize the uniqueness of the Epistle of James. As much or more than the writings of Peter and Paul, his letter to the Church is filled with practical, down to earth directives regarding Christian life. In one such verse, the head of the Church of Jerusalem, and by extension perhaps the world at that time, writes:

  • "Don't fool yourself into thinking that you are a listener when you are anything but, letting the Word go in one ear and out the other. Act on what you hear! Those who hear and don't act are like those who glance in the mirror, walk away, and two minutes later have no idea who they are, what they look like. But whoever catches a glimpse of the revealed counsel of God—the free life!—even out of the corner of his eye, and sticks with it, is no distracted scatterbrain but a man or woman of action. That person will find delight and affirmation in the action. Anyone who sets himself up as "religious" by talking a good game is self-deceived. This kind of religion is hot air and only hot air. Real religion, the kind that passes muster before God the Father, is this: Reach out to the homeless and loveless in their plight, and guard against corruption from the godless world." James 1:22-27
Few have provided a more accurate and consistent "mirror" for Churchianity than the Christian pollster George Barna. For decades The Barna Group has given believers a glimpse of our habits and lifestyles as reflected by our actions and inactions. After nearly thirty years of surveys and warning of conduct unbecoming, George Barna along with Frank Viola coauthored a book entitled "Pagan Christianity."

Their book reveals the history of current trends and traditions that have become embedded within religious practice. Excellent on several levels, their work addresses many of the concerns mentioned thus far. Recognizing the inherent foibles of large congregations, they suggest the key to revival is a return to the intimacy of house churches.

Their presupposition is that smaller is better when the goal is to activate and provide accountability for each member of a fellowship. While axiomatically obvious and an important step forward, modifying form in and of itself can never overcome the unprecedented and ubiquitous levels of
temptation and deception permeating every level of modern society.

Brilliant and bold, men the caliber of George Barna are in short supply. Nevertheless, it is possible that even the giants of
modern Christendom have failed to appreciate the true nature of the disease ravaging the body of Christ. Repeated and even systematic doctrinal errors resulting in apathy if not apostasy have reached pandemic proportion. So much so that without radical treatment, the metastasized cancer of wordiness and sin must prove terminal in this life, the next or both.

In our current circumstance we desperately need a
reformation of form and function. There must be a clarion call to soul searching self and corporate introspection and repentance through comprehensive Bible study and prayer. Let us heed Paul's admonition to work out our "salvation with fear and trembling" by learning to rightly discern and interpret "the word of truth."

Now more than ever what is needed is the development of groups of Prophetic Christians, men and women like the Old Testament soldiers from the tribe of Issachar who "understood the signs of the times and knew the best course for Israel to take." Fellowships that appreciate the severity of the coming judgement against unprecedented sins. Take clinical and even contraceptive abortion for example. How many modern Christians are authentically pro-life, willing to daily take up Jeremiah's lament and Habukkuk's complaint in hope of reversing the devastating effect of abortion on the Church. How many regularly attend genuine pro-life prayer meetings (or any other kind). How few area able to see past the collateral damage of the murder of perhaps two billion babies, 10 times the earth's entire population in Jesus' day, to Satan's primary target of alienating the Church to the point of aborting the effectiveness of communion and worship, prayer and even salvation.

Thankfully Scripture is full of
prophetic advice. From 1 Chronicles 7:14 "If My people who are called by My name… to Ezra and Joel's example of calling the Sacred Assembly, God has provided hope and direction for "such a time as this." Yet a global revival of mind and heart, word and action requires a commitment to examine ourselves in the light of the "whole counsel of God." Broken hearted and radical honesty requires personal and corporate corporate repentance for turning a blind eye to untold Scriptures addressing many of the attitudes and behaviors not only prevalent in modern society but habitually condoned and even copied by Christians.

Seen from eternity's vantage point, far more critical than how and when Christians gather is our willingness to hear and
appropriately respond to the surgical scalpel of God's word:

  • "For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account." Hebrews 4:12-13

  • "Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you." James 1:21
Sadly, our spiritual health and immune system has been far more compromised than we suspect. When average church attenders struggle to quote even a handful of scriptures in a row, much less interpret and implement them correctly, it's easy to see why our doctrine is diseased. Yet few today take the time to contemplate even the most basic of Christian tenants, such as "What must I do to be saved?" True fellowship among believers requires some level of acknowledgement that so grim a prognosis will certainly require a panel of tests and examinations:

  • "Test yourselves to make sure you are solid in the faith. Don't drift along taking everything for granted. Give yourselves regular checkups. You need firsthand evidence, not mere hearsay, that Jesus Christ is in you. Test it out. If you fail the test, do something about it." 2 Corinthians 5-6 MSG
As with all life's choices, our responsibility is first to educate ourselves as to what constitutes an appropriate response. With Hell to loose and Heaven to gain, our appropriate response to God is so vital a topic that it may be said the entire Bible was written to illustrate and explain what the Creator and Savior requires from mankind.

Who can deny our generation has been given
unprecedented blessings of wealth and technology, education and knowledge. Spiritually speaking, with billions of Bibles in print and instant access to the vast resource of theology and teaching over millennia of Church history, the key verse for us may be Christ's warning, "To whom much is given much is required"

  • "But someone who does not know, and then does something wrong, will be punished only lightly. When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required." Luke 12:48

A second crucial Scripture continues the concept by addressing what level of effort is acceptable:

  • "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." Hebrews 11:6

Just the issues raised thus far reflect the growing need for passionately diligent rather than apathetically casual efforts in regards to seeking and serving God. The imperious of these and a myriad of similar passages underscore the individual and collective spiritual challenge facing humanity in general and Christians in particular. And while Scripture acknowledges there will be difficulties, God places the burden of investing adequate time and energy in “fighting the good fight of faith” squarely on each of our shoulders. His offer to supply understanding and guidance, grace and empowerment extends to everyone as does the responsibility to respond appropriately whatever our circumstance.

Having received such "great and precious promises" ours is to come humbly yet "boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most." Given the hurdles of
doubt and disappointment, temptation and sin this may not be an easy task. The Devil and demons will resist. Yet surely a people capable of splitting the atom and numbering the stars can find creative ways to "fan into flames" the various gifts of the Spirit extended to each of us for the benefit of all.

Just as a "rose would smell as sweet by any other name" so authentic Christian fellowship has a fragrance all it's own. Large or small, structured or spontaneous, the aroma of genuine New Testament Koinonia (community, communion, joint participation, sharing and intimacy) should have a profound effect. When the bouquet of God's love and mercy, forgiveness and faithfulness bloom, hope fills the air.

Whenever "two or more" are gathered
in and by Christ, the presence of God inspires men and women to embrace salvation through the atonement of Christ and sanctification by the Holy Spirit. Both and event and process, the work of God is designed to penetrate and permeate the entire array of human thought and emotion. Over time, wisdom from above replaces that from below. Past bondages should be broken and relationships mended. Current habits and lifestyles altered. Plans and goals for the future adjusted to reflect a heavenly rather than earthly calling.

Unfortunately such transformation hardly
happens in a vacuum. For mankind, the battle for eternity begins within. Only those who's mind, heart and will are clothed with the whole armor of God are capable of withstanding the onslaught of sin above, about and within. This being the case, true Christian fellowship is hallmarked by brokenness and heartrending prayer. Engaging and being engaged by the Enemy, we may be humbled and overrun. Yet forced to our knees is a perfect place to wait on and even wrestle with God for the blessings reserved for those who struggle to know and more fully realize the power of His Kingdom.

In truth, few Christian denominations or congregations, house churches or prayer meetings, families or even individuals fit the above description. Nonetheless, when it comes to loving and fearing, seeking and serving the awesome God of eternity, surely our "reach should exceed our grasp." With careful planning and some trial and error we can search for those likeminded. Some seasoned and well placed words within church and para-church meetings, work and family relationships may yield strategic networking.

Thankfully, through the interconnection of technology, the world is growing smaller. The addition of social media websites and blogs, Facebook and messaging provides additional resources to aid in the discovery of those with similar interests and concerns beyond our immediate social circle.

Hollywood and Madison Ave. aside, an army of one is all but an oxymoron. The goal of every Christian should be to find or create a fellowship (like that of Lord of the Rings) with as many Biblically centric traits as possible. Through
strategic and daily prayer, let us cry out to God individually and together that He might grant repentance and even a New Pentecost to a harrowed and harassed world and Church desperately in need of His renewed presence.

When it comes to attending a Christian fellowship and/or
Biblical Church, we do well to carefully consider the followings:

  1. One Church: While fractured into denominations, offering a variety of Christs and versions of the gospel, there can be only one body of Christ.
  2. One Body: Persecuted and free Christians comprise not two but one church militant. The latter required to remember the former "Think constantly of those in prison as if you were prisoners at their side. Think too of all who suffer as if you shared their pain." One not two, to the degree that modern Christianity responds to Scripture's command, "do not let your freedom become an opportunity for the sinful nature (worldliness, selfishness), but through love serve and seek the best for one another."
  3. Many Parts: Like our own bodies, the body of Christ consists of various parts yet all 100% committed to the whole. Each fully functionally involved and responsive to the Head.
  4. All Valuable: Given the necessity for bodily functions, each of our members serve important roles. From sustaining life and enabling social interactions to carrying on work and providing safety.
  5. Commonality: Our bodies share involvement and benefits. To the degree one part suffers all suffer. When one part is honored, all are honored.
  6. Unity: Not to be confused with uniformity, health bodies must function in unison. Mutual objectives and commitments, honor and shame are shared equally throughout.
  7. Functionality: Health and wellness, vitality and safety affecting one part effects all. So too illness and disease, injury and attack.



2021 Update: The year 2020 marked an unanticipated acceleration in the deterioration of societal norms. With 2021 following in lockstep. Signs of the times boding poorly for modern Christianity, and society as a whole. The threat of present and future global pandemics abound. Economic tribulation reverberates worldwide.

By mid 2020,
43 million sought unemployment benefits in the U.S. alone. Coast to coast rioting and looting, violence and murder, over the justifiable death of career criminal George Floyd went unchecked. Not to mention a series of other false martyrs used by Antifa, Black Lives Mater and Democrats to promote and propagate the greatest unchecked anarchy in recent U.S. history. To the point of choreographing the likelihood of race riots with militias on both sides. All this while calling to defund the police, after already making the crucial job of society’s protectors all but impossible.

Scripture is clear such manipulations of facts and logic, much less the rebellion and
anarchy they promote, are forbidden and will prove disastrous for all parties concerned:

  • Doom to you who call evil good and good evil, Who put darkness in place of light and light in place of darkness, Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!” Isaiah 5:20 The Message
Accompanying the devastating fallout of unprecedented global and national impacts of COVID-19 has been the most obvious and successful campaign of disinformation. Medical and otherwise. Liberal elites and news outlets joined mega corporations and social media platforms to censor and vilify dissenting opinions. Sentiments shared by tens, if not hundreds of thousands of medical researchers and health care professionals regarding a variety of COVID-19 issues. Or more accurately, “biological agents” in regards to and the likelihood of irreversible, if not deadly, side effects.

During this unprecedented international campaign against global societies, in the U.S. such misinformation often went hand and hand with support of
BLM rioting and looting, violence and murder. Domestic terrorism on a national scale sponsored by powerful liberals within government, media and business. Power brokers aiming the gun and pulling the trigger on American society during a flawlessly manufactured low point.

These kinds of previously unimaginably blatant and continual attacks would seem to be clearly orchestrated to introduce an entirely
new sociopolitical era. One reinforced by vast supply lines of support and genuflection.

Never before have the spiritual and societal battle lines been drawn so clearly. Even the
genocide of abortion is largely unseen. More a religious and moral issue than the publicly emboldened and highly praised BLM rioting and looting, violence and murder. A campaign of terror supplemented with the tearing down of monuments, while bestowing martyrdom and sainthood on felons.

A year or more of BLM insurrection received unprecedented support from the new and improved
iron triangle of liberal politics, mass media and international corporations.

All the while, aside from political posturing, a majority of Republican leaders have done little to nothing to practically stem the tide of such obvious lawlessness. Neither did they meaningfully confront a long list of other evils besetting the nation.

Even when controlling the Presidency, Senate and House of Representatives during Donald Trumps first two years in office,
Planned Parenthood was permitted to continue receiving federal funding. Once again, breaking Republican campaign promises.

A summary of just a few of the more unfortunate highlights of 2020-2021 alone provide shocking evidence that the times, they be a changing:

1. Abortion on Demand: Tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars are rightly spent to deliver a premature baby. Criminal charges of manslaughter, if not murder, are brought against killing an unborn child in the womb. If not requested by the mother. Late term and even partial birth abortions have long been legalized. All the while, Planned Parenthood, the world’s largest abortion provider, continues to receive tax payer funding allowing for the reallocation of revenues to promote abortion on demand. Such irrationality forwards the long held nonsensical philosophy that the scientific definition between a pre-born child and discardable tissue mass continues to be simply based on a particular mother’s momentary choice.

2. BLM/Antifa: Well over ten thousand protest and more than 500 violent, destructive and murderous riots were created, encouraged and justified by liberal politicians, media and global corporations across America.

All such anarchy was instigated by the gross misrepresentation of
fictional systemic racism and lies regarding reported genocidal behavior on the part of police. Largely occasioned by the clearly justifiable death of the now sainted George Floyd, a career and violent criminal, threatening black and white lives for decades.

These same insurrectionists were allowed to
loot and burn, violate and occupy homes and businesses, police and federal buildings at will, while destroying civic statues and defacing national monuments. In some cases, to the point of declaring their own autonomous zones in occupied cities.

All the while, many major urban areas, like that of the liberally governed Chicago of the Obamas, suffered
more black on black violence and murder on a single weekend than all the semi questionable black police shootings in an entire year.

During this time the Woke agenda claimed systemic racism in every facet of American life, business and politics when clearly it was BLM/Antifa that had been given freedom to reign down discrimination and hate, destruction and theft, violence and murder on fellow citizens everywhere and of every color.
Including their own.

3. Homosexuality/Transgenderism: First we are told men and women’s heterosexual and homosexual orientations are hard wired and not simply the product of appropriate or inappropriate sexual impulses or preferences.

With the false narrative of transgenderism,
there is in fact now no scientifically based gender whatsoever. Thus logically there is no such thing as homosexuality. Suddenly, human biology is fluid, again based not on science but on however one pleases to self identify at any given moment.

Under
President Biden’s executive order and bills such as the Equality Act, even elementary school children are encouraged to identify, not just as queer, but transgender. All evidence to the contrary. To the point of supporting or requiring the administering of biologically altering puberty blockers and even gender reassignment surgeries.

Girls are also required to allow boys to use their bathrooms, locker rooms and play as girls on their sport teams.

4. Non Binary: The next step on the liberal agenda has been the introduction of Woke terminology such as non binary, paving the way for any and all identification as anything or everything, once again based not on science but individual proclivity.

5. Dystopia: To complete the solidification of irrational and systemic lawlessness, language itself has been assaulted by nonsensical Woke idioms such as systemic and environmental racism, economic and environmental justice, white privilege and defund the police, non binary and gender pronouns, transgender theory and parenting.

All such illogical manipulations are far less about forwarding rational and coherent sociopolitical arguments than signally unity with the agenda of the ruling elite. A kind of signet or code, along the lines of the recent Marvel Avengers movies
whispered and shouted, “Hail Hydra.”

A
systematic silencing of many, if not most traditional values and dissenting opinions, is already in place. Including suspending then President Trumps social media accounts and deplatforming alternatives like Parlor.

Constant coverage by ultra left media and politics, education and corporations not only equates to the brainwashing of an entire generation, but frequently paints the entire conservative party as not only racists, but white supremacists.
Actual creed or color notwithstanding.

Touting Ivy League education and superior savvy, the upper echelons of education and politics, media and business suggest and implement
massive censoring and deplatforming of genuine science and reason, humanitarianism and religion. All the while falsely calling for peace and unity, while instituting anarchy and policies designed to sow discord and prejudice by a variety of means. Including embedding propagandist critical race theory throughout schools and the rest of society.

Woke’s terminology and expressions, cancel culture and BLM rioting have been nearly universal recognized and received not only in the U.S. but abroad by international media and corporations, globalist and liberal politicians. A tragic development, clearly in keeping with the adoption of the kind of Doublethink and Newspeak undermining society in George Orwell’s infamous dystopian novel 1984.

All these efforts and far more signal the emergence and growing supremacy of
antinomianism by clearly calling evil good and good evil. A New World Order forwarded by the spirit of the Man of Lawlessness, long prophesied in Scripture.

In magic, misdirection is a form of deception in which the performer draws audience attention to one thing to distract from another.

All these efforts and far more serve to quantumly both
veil and signal the emergence and growing supremacy of a new sociopolitical era.

All this and more raises a crucial question.
If such radical leftest policies are taking place before our eyes, what is happening behind the curtain?

What lies beyond the creation of unprecedented emergency powers enabling implementation of global economic and institutional control, mandatory shelter in place and social distancing ordinances? Nefarious agendas having already orchestrated previously unknown closures of businesses and churches, schools and recreation around the world. Might even greater social and fiscal engineering plans and restrictions already be set in motion?

There is noteworthy speculation that such rapid and ominous changes are structured to promote and propagate
sociopolitical control. Escalations designed to forward the infiltration of global society. On an international and national, state and community level. Leading to the rapid advancement of a New World Order. Possibly even the ushering in of the long foretold Antichrist, as well as the Mark of the Beast. The appearance of both, as Scripture plainly warns, predating Christ’s prophesied Rapture of the Church.

It’s not hard to imagine a scenario where the primary, secondary and tertiary effects of global catastrophes such as
COVID-19, and its worrisome vaccine, play a significant role in the beginning of sorrows warned of in the gospels, epistles and Book of Revelation.

Many questions remain unanswered. Many mysteries persist. Yet amongst the
COVID-19 affliction and aftermath, a single spiritual concern looms large.

What will it take to move modern Christians to reevaluate our present disastrous course?

What more need be threatened? If not
forever lost? How much greater the disaster before we replace presumption with Biblical faith? When will fellowships and churches come with brokenness and contrition before the God we so casually invoke and yet daily offend?

Scripture complains that in the last church era,
Jesus stands outside knocking on the door. Are we yet ready to appropriately respond to Christ through necessary pre-revival repentance in hope of experiencing our own Pentecost. With hundreds, if not thousands, of upper rooms?

Most needed now is a cure many find worse than the disease. A Scripturally accurate diagnoses of
apathetic and anemic powerlessness. A prescription of rigorous honesty and radical discipleship. Followed with a comprehensive treatment of James 4’s Prayer of Anguish in hopes of recovering spiritual discernment and radical discipleship. As well as James 5’s Divine intervention of miraculous power.

Such a regimen is the only way for
modern Christians to cure our free fall from grace and be reconciled to God. In this fashion, 21st century believers can truly follow Jesus and rest assured of salvation. By fulfilling even His more demanding commands, particularly in regards to Revelation’s account of Christ’s judgment of His church.


Deeper Dive


It's estimated that globally there may be as many as a billion Protestants. With the above categories identified, it seems helpful to drill down deeper as to which of today's Christian models might be nearer the all important 1st century Biblical Christian ideal:

1. 1st Century Biblical Christianity: As the originators and recipients of Pentecost's fire and empowerment as recorded in the Book of Acts, Christ's apostles were the founders of Christianity. Authoring the New Testament letters, through them and their missionary zeal they evangelized and discipled the original Church to withstand extreme resistance and persecution. To the point of eventually bringing Rome, then the world's greatest military, political and religious power on Earth to bow its knees to Christ. Thus becoming the Divine model for Christendom throughout all ages.

2. Persecuted Church: Today's Persecuted Church continues the costly mandate and mission of the 1st century Christians. This included innumerable Third World missionaries and believers daily baring their cross while proclaiming Christ's. See Nick Ripken and Voice of the Martyrs. Far less in number, some First World Christians and activists do the same.

3. Puritan Holiness: One of the smallest subset with Christendom are those embracing extreme sanctification, at least by today's standards. Such doctrine and lifestyle is more common in impoverished nations facing far less bombardment by levels of worldliness and entitlement, temptation and deception. In the modern world, such radical discipleship witnesses to one of the main differences between cheap and costly grace. The latter being the authentic grace of God presented in Scripture. Examples include John Wesley and Hudson Taylor, Charles Finney and Smith Wigglesworth, George, Mueller and Evan Roberts, Dietrich Bonhoeffer and Jackie Pullinger, Leonard Ravenhill and David Wilkerson. Old and new world puritanism may differ, but both are radical expressions of commitment to Christ's in the face of worldly influence and onslaught, more recently exemplified in the Russian Church's costly overcoming of Communist persecution and tribulations. GB also highly recommends reading the 1996 testimony of Olga, a 19 year old Russian immigrant's "Visit to the entrance of Hell."

4. Quantum Christianity: As previously mentioned, QC was developed in hope of being a better Bible bridge for billions, spanning the growing gap between 1st Century Biblical Christianity and 21st Century Modern Churchianity. With the goal of more fully equipping Prophetic Christians to walk in the Spirit in light of the vastly degrading times and season thrust upon us by the devilish geopolitical era in which we live.

5. Modern Christianity: An umbrella term, Modern Christianity represents many of the hundred plus denominations having fragmented Christianity. Many promoting various Christs and versions of Scripture. Major categories include Charismatics and Cessationists, Evangelicals and Fundamentalists, Denominational and Community Churches, Missions and Activist Organizations, Home and Small Group Fellowships. Most in keeping with at least some of Scripture's requirements for Biblical Churches and Fellowships.

6. Churchianity: Somewhat synonymous with Modern Christianity, Churchianity implies greater doctrinal and/or lifestyle error within or without the denominations previously referenced. Up to and including heretical movements. Including versions of prosperity gospels, particularly that of the Word of Faith Movement.

7. Emerging and Emergent Church: The Emerging Church seeks "the deconstruction of modern Christian worship, modern evangelism, and the nature of modern Christian community" by embracing a post modern theological fluid, thus worldly, interpretation of Scripture and church, morality and lifestyle. Featuring the development and promotion of progressive Christianity. Including rewriting some or all of the Bible.

While disagreements abound in regards to many, if not all, facets of the above Protestant models, it should be noted that 1-3 are in perfect keeping with the tenets and tenor of Scripture. Exemplifying evangelism and discipleship. Differing modestly, though not necessarily insignificantly, as to what degree certain doctrines are highlighted and
emphasized. Making these the safest bet and educated guess.

Models 5-6 embrace certain aspects of elementary truths. The
milk vs. meat of Scripture. Often prematurely assuming salvation by substituting presumption for faith and christianized worldliness for sanctification. Thus promoting half the gospel or less.

Model 4,
Quantum Christianity, is designed to promote Prophetic Christian understanding and compliance to models 2-3, with the goal of achieving original 1st century perspective and power in our 21st century Christian experience. Thus fully entering God's Rest and becoming entirely New Creations. The ultimate objective of Biblical Christianity.

Forty years of strategic service and research suggests modern Christianity’s Biblical report card looks something like this:

  • 1/3 of our teaching and preaching, prayers and worship, evangelism and discipleship are in keeping with the fuller content and context of Scripture. 👍

  • 1/3 of our teaching and preaching, prayers and worship, evangelism and discipleship are at lacking or at odds with the fuller content and context of Scripture. 😔

  • 1/3 of the most vital aspects of Scripture’s content and context are entirely missing. 😬
This goes a long way to explain why a Quantum Christian perspective, that embraces ALL aspects of Biblical truth equally and simultaneously, without over emphasizing or under emphasizing any, is so important.

Hence Jesus’s use of
“Man shall live by EVERY word that proceeded from the mouth of God.”

We all have valuable subjective experiences in our journey to know, and be known by the Lord. Still, the Bible was Authored as an
objective point of reference to be sure we don’t lose our way on our journey to maturity and perfection (both emphasized in the New Testament).

Again, this includes substituting or enlarging one or more aspect of God’s Divine attributes and nature over others. Either by reason of personal experience or denominational doctrine.

When it comes to our relationship with God, we all agree various verses on His interaction with humanity begin to paint a picture of nuances between Divine
mercy and forgiveness, faithfulness and love, in light of repeated examples of His commands and warnings, holiness and judgment

It’s easy to see how the passages we choose to
emphasize and/or omit shape our perception of God’s range of emotion regarding both those outside and inside Christ’s Church.

As well as His acceptance or rejection of our thoughts and attitudes, words and deeds (or lack thereof).

In this
simple video example, the expression on God’s face are easily manipulated through even slight alterations of His eyes, ears, nose and mouth…

It’s been said God created man in His own image, and since then we’ve been returning the favor…

Limiting God in this way is an extremely common and costly mistake. Both temporally and eternally. One often accentuated by the worldview we use to read and interpret Scripture’s
meta messages.

Such errors are frequently supported by our individual current circumstance.

For example, the Bible repeatedly warns, directly and indirectly, not to confuse the praises of men with God’s anointing. His blessings as His approval. Financial and worldly freedom as His favor. Or vice versa.


QC dares to
hope against hope that while we have clearly run out of wine, as in the case of Mary's perfect intercession, through timely and appropriate brokenness and repentance, we may yet find Jesus has once again saved the best for last.

UPDATE: Roe vs. Wade Overturned


To the joy of countless millions, on Friday 6/24/22 the landmark decision Hobbs vs. Jackson by the Supreme Court of the United States overturned Roe vs. Wade. Thus auspiciously ending 40 years of national tyranny against 60 million pre-born.


Or at lease throwing the decision to allow mothers to continue conspiring with physicians to murder the offspring within their wombs back to America's 50 individual states...


While I now live in North East Texas, years ago I spent nearly 100 Saturdays at Central California clinics warning and imploring up to twenty girls a day to spare their babies. Via public parking constraints, forced to pass near I implored, “If God gives you the gift of a child don’t let anyone harm it.”

Often alone, sometimes there would be nearly a handful of us. On a good day, one or two mothers would listen and change their minds.

On many other occasions none at all.

As in Christ's end time parable of the
Sheep and Goats, there I discovered Jesus in His smallest and most innocent form. Totally dependent for “food” and “drink,” “naked” and “in prison” in the very womb of His mother. There I watched as He was repeatedly carried, “Like a lamb to the slaughter,” into a medical clinic. A most solemn and sorrowful scenario with grave spiritual ramifications.

One repeated in Fresno alone over 50,000 times.

In over two years I don’t recall a single member of the clergy or even lay leader joining us. Though I understand the odds may have somewhat improved through the influence of 40 Days For Life.

Only a fraction of fraction of a percent of ordained ministers have served as a director of a leading pro-life organization. Far less still have had the honor and responsibility to act as a leading liaison to over a thousand churches in state wide pro-life political initiatives.

With well over thirty years in
strategic Christian service, including more than a decade of pastoral ministry and pro-life activism, the author is privileged to belong to a select fraternity. This and other articles and books represent a culmination of this experience. Using such depth perception, this commentary is intended to introduce the true nature of the challenge presented by abortion. Particularly to modern Christianity.

During California’s 2005 Prop. 73 Parent’s Right To Know initiative I produced the pro-life political DVD entitled “Protect Me…Please” to be shown in hundreds, if not thousands of churches, prior to or on election Sunday. Groundbreaking, the 3 minute video featuring post abortive laments of teenage girls, made the front page of both the LA Times and San Francisco Chronicle. Prop. 73 failed by a narrow margin.

During the subsequent Prop. 85 initiative I achieved another milestone. For the first time, four leading Protestant state denominations, the
Southern Baptists, Assemblies of God, Calvary Chapel and Foursquare, officially endorsed a political initiative. Again Parent’s Right to Know (PRK) was defeated.

Our third attempt in 2008 with Prop 4. affectionately dubbed “Sarah’s Law” failed as well. More than
political, my involvement was spiritually motivated. After having spoken to thousands of Christians across denominational lines, it was clear that far less than 1% of either clergy or laity had the vaguest notion of the scale of abortion’s true threat to either the pre-born or the Church.

As a topical Biblical commentary, Quantum Christianity was designed in recognition of the need to examine and handle truth carefully and honestly. Scriptural and otherwise. The nationalized legalization of clinical abortion, and its apparent overruling, presents a perfect case in point.

A faithful handling of the Old and New Testament requires would be students and adherents to develop
spiritual discernment on a variety of subjects crucial to Biblical Christianity. The lack of which has produced hundreds of differing denominations espousing various Christs and versions of the gospel. Tragically, many of the hopeful insights inherent in Christ's command to "Judge with righteous judgment" continue to go largely unrealized within modern Christianity.

Such is certainly the case when considering the American church's 40 year track record in regards to an appropriate response to abortion. Or more accurately, the lack thereof. Both clinically and
contraceptively.

Bear in mind that church attending Christians could have ended abortion in a single day, 365 days a year, for nearly 40 years, by simply sending 1% of our congregations to have family friendly picnics in front of every abortion
clinic in America. With thousands peacefully blocking entrances, even should there be numerous arrests, the sheer numbers involved would shut down all abortuaries in a single day. With 99% more now authentically pro-life Christians waiting for a chance to join cause.

Yet nothing could be further from the case. Then or now.

Nor have we seriously addressed the widespread use of
abortifacient contraception throughout Christendom. A topic that many, if not most, churches and even pro-life organizations know or speak little about. Most often chemical in nature, early term abortions are a result of various forms of birth control and other devices. Abortions of this kind happen before the mother is aware of her pregnancy. The exact numbers are unknown. Some estimates suggest the daily total of these types of abortions may be surprising large. In the U.S. alone perhaps between 834,000 to over 4,000,000 per year (Dr. Bobmir Kuhar, Infant Homicides Through Contraceptives Pg 27.) Lower estimates range around 100,000 to over 1,500,000 annually (Randy Alcorn: Does the Birth Control Pill Cause Abortions? How Often Does the Pill Cause Abortions?)

Thus the compelling need to rethink Jesus' directive to "Judge with righteous judgment" should be abundantly evident.

But is it? Throughout the
Hobbs vs. Jackson decision by the Supreme Court celebratory posts and podcasts, sermons and ceremonies, is there any awareness of the reality of the seriousness our situation? Or brokenhearted repentance in light of the depth of our failures?

Are any of today's joyful messages cognizant of the Bible's repeated warning that God is not mocked.


  • Do not be deceived, God is not mocked [He will not allow Himself to be ridiculed, nor treated with contempt nor allow His precepts to be scornfully set aside]; for whatever a man sows, this and this only is what he will reap. Galatians 6:7 AMP

  • For they sow the wind [in evil] And they reap the whirlwind [in disaster]. Hosea 8:7 AMP
Is our revelry tempered with the sobering fact that while abortion is currently the pinnacle sin of mankind, it's only the tip of the iceberg? One floating in a WaterWorld of immorality unleashed by the continual and increasing tsunami of the 60's sexual revolution redefining and/or eliminating traditional marriage and family.

These
devilish sociopolitical engineering undoubtedly ushered in such modern woes as career felon George Floyd's sainthood and efforts to undermine criminal justice. Antifa and BLM riots and violence. CRT and orchestrated racial tensions. C19's plandemic and goal overreach. Medical interference and harmful vaccines. Woke agenda and transgenderism. Biden's malevolent war on Ukraine and America's economy. All part of the Great Reset.

And these are just the highlights. All coordinated and choreographed by the clearly visible and menacing Iron Triangle of liberal global politics, media and corporations.

Yet even now,
modern Christianity, up to and including the vast majority of Prophetic Christians, refuses to discern the clearly repeated handwriting on the wall. And having done so, to enter the crucible of James 4's Prayer of Anguish in hopes of James 5's reconciliation to, and empowerment by, God.

Particularly the Person of the
Holy Spirit, Whom we continue to annoy and grieve, if not profane and blaspheme.

Instead, across America,
Laodicea is masquerading as Philadelphia. Lauding the Supreme Court for Hobbs vs. Jackson while the highest court in the land continues to sidestep or support all the devastating atrocities mentioned above. Many of which modern Christianity has yet to Scripturally repent of, up to and including sins of clinical and/or contraceptive abortion. In regards to commission and/or omission.

Mankind’s current pinnacle sin of abortion is spiritually quantum in a variety of ways. For example, it’s hardly just like any other sin. Even so, as with any other sin, it does require the event and process of genuine repentance. Like faith itself, honest and heartfelt repentance encompasses our entire mind, heart and will. As required by 2 Chronicles 7:14’s perfect formula for repentance.

The New Testament reiterates this principle in multiple ways. Putting the
penance in repentance, Scripture reinforces the need for a change of both attitude and action as exemplified in the old adage, “When is a thief not a thief?” The Bible’s answer is not when someone merely confesses. In and of itself a rarity these days. Not even when a thief stops stealing. That’s just an out of work thief. But rather:

  • If you are a thief, quit stealing. Instead, use your hands for good hard work, and then give generously to others in need.” Ephesians 4:28 New Living Translation

Herein lies one of several grave errors in
modern Christianity’s understanding of Biblical repentance. All too often members are bid to simply believe in the cross of Christ, with little or no discussion of practical aspects of repentance and/or restitution. Much less of His command we daily shoulder our own. As Jesus’ brother James warned in regards to living and dead faith:

  • “Do I hear you professing to believe in the one and only God, but then observe you complacently sitting back as if you had done something wonderful? That’s just great. Demons do that, but what good does it do them? Use your heads! Do you suppose for a minute that you can cut faith and works in two and not end up with a corpse on your hands?” James 2:19-20 The Message

Reflecting Scripture's overarching
context of conflict theology, a military analogy perfectly exemplifies the Bible's emphasis on the crucial 3 step process of genuine repentance:

  1. Halt: “If you are a thief, quit stealing.”

  1. About Face: “Instead, use your hands for good hard work…”

  1. March: “and then give generously to others in need.”
Before continuing to celebrate exchanging presumption for faith, in message and music, perhaps some soul serious searching would be in order. The Roe vs. Wade debacle would be a good place to start...


Update 2022

It should be abundantly clear things changed substantially in 2020. Nationally and globally, the world has never scene the like of even the following short list: 

1. Covid-19 and variants, of questionable origin, mandates promoting and/or requiring untested and dangerous MRNA “vaccines” and “boosters” with negative efficacy and even deadly side effects revealing unprecedented control of healthcare and politics by the collusion of pharmaceutical companies and bureaucrats. To the point of threatening the removal of medical licenses of physicians prescribing safe and reliable treatments proven effective against respiratory and other illness. 5. Campaigns of disinformation and destruction by the emerging Iron Triangle of liberal governments, legacy media and global corporations influencing and poisoning the hearts and minds of billions.
